Yvette
Rodriquez
April 14, 1962 – July 19, 2025
Yvette Rodriguez, a loving and generous soul, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2025, in Bakersfield, California. Born on April 14, 1962 to Margaret and Michael Calvillo.
Yvette attended schools in the Los Angeles area, eventually graduating from Artesia High School in 1980. While in High School she met and later married Francisco Rodiquez. Their marriage resulted in the birth of their son Francisco Jr.
After the end of her marriage, she moved to Bakersfield where she graduated from Federico Beauty College and began her long career as a hairdresser, a profession that allowed her to develop lifelong friendships that exist to this day. Yvette worked tirelessly in her chosen profession, until she developed health issues that prevented her from continuing her chosen career.
While working at Regis Salon in the Valley Plaza she met the love of her life Billy Petty. Yvette and Billy remained in a committed relationship for over 41 years. This relationship resulted in the birth of Billy Jr. and Skylar Petty.
As the years went on her family grew to include her daughter-in-law Nancy Petty, her grandson Joe Rodriquez and her grandchildren Dylan and Lexi Cortez. Deeply committed to the ties that bind, Yvette was a cornerstone of her family.
Yvette is predeceased by her father Micheal Calvillo. She is lovingly survived by her life partner Billy Petty, her children Francisco Rodriques Jr, Billy Jr, and Skylar Petty. Daughter-in-law Nancy Petty, her grandson Joe Rodriquez and her grandchildren Dylan and Lexi Cortez. She is also survived by her mother Margaret Arechiga, her sisters Gina Calvillo, Michelle Neira, and her brother Dominic Calvillo, brother-in-law Aaron Neira, nieces Abby Vaughn and Hannah Neira, and great niece Delilah Vaughn who she lovingly referred to as her sweetness.
With hands that were rarely still, Yvette's interests painted the canvas of her life in vivid colors. She was known for her exceptional talents in cooking, baking, decorating, and crocheting. Her home was the hub of many family celebrations including birthdays, thanksgiving, and Christmas.
Yvette embodied love and generosity in all aspects of her life. Her thoughtful nature made her a confidante and friend to many. She had a playful nature that at one point gave her the confidence to take part in a lingerie show. She enjoyed dancing, listening to music and going to the beach. She loved being a mother, and creating memories with her family was a priority in her life.
She had the rare gift of making everyone she met feel special, and her legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known her. Yvette left a permanent mark on the hearts of those she encountered.
As we bid farewell to Yvette Rodriquez, her spirit will live on through her family and friends and the beautiful memories she left behind. Her departure from this earth is not an end but a transition to a place where her beauty, both inside and out, will continue to shine as brightly as it did here among us.
Yvette's life was a journey of joy and selfless love, one that serves as a guiding light for all of us who were blessed to know her. Her legacy lives on as a testament to a life well-lived, a life filled with love and joy. This was especially evident in her love for her animals, Ben, Thor, Diamond, and Cookie.
