Ruben Flores November 14, 1935 – March 3, 2025 (Age 89)

Born in San Antonio, Texas

Ruben also lived throughout the Southwest United States, and in numerous cities in Los Angeles and Orange Counties, California. He last lived in Bakersfield, California.

Ruben is survived by his wife of almost 72 years, Guadalupe Lee Flores (Meza), sons Michael and Robert, and daughter Deborah. He has 2 grandchildren, Sean and Karissa.

Ruben will be cremated, with urns kept by his wife and one to each of his children. Memorial services will be held at the family home at various times to accommodate family and friends schedules, financial and medical issues.

Ruben was the youngest child of Ernesto and Josephina Flores from San Antonio, Texas, and the last surviving sibling of the 6 children. Ruben's wife and 3 children are all retired and living in Bakersfield, California.

Ruben was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormon) and was married to his wife in the Mesa, Arizona temple.

Ruben retired after 33 years as a draftsman and checker with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (DWP). He was a member of the Engineers and Architects Association (EAA) union, an affiliate of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), Local 11, Los Angeles, California.

Besides being a professional draftsman and checker, Ruben was an accomplished freehand artist (mostly with pencils and chalks). He was a beloved grandson, son, husband, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, nephew and friend. He will be greatly missed by many family and friends.

Ruben is in God's hands now. He is reunited with his grandparents, parents, brothers, sisters, in-laws, other relatives and friends who have gone on before him.
