Bakersfield Romeo Lira Benavidez, age 48, of Bakersfield, California, passed away on April 26, 2024, in his beloved city. He was born on February 23, 1976, in Bakersfield, CA, to be a devoted family man and a hardworking individual.
Romeo dedicated many years of his life to his career, starting at Bolthouse Farms as a Sanitation Team Leader from 1996 to 2005. For the past 18 years, he served as a truck driver and batch man at Golden Empire Concrete in Bakersfield, CA, showcasing his work ethic and commitment.
Outside of work, Romeo found joy in various hobbies, including camping, BBQs, fishing, and traveling. He cherished moments spent with his family and made it a tradition to take them to Disneyland every year, creating lasting memories filled with love and laughter.
He will be deeply missed by his spouse of 26 years, Catrina Benavidez, his daughters Brina Juliette Benavidez and Victoria Julianne Benavidez, his niece Janessa Gonzales, sister-in-law Josie Salazar, Family, coworkers and everyone he encountered over the years.
A ceremony to honor Romeo's life will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at LifeHouse Church, located at 3311 Manor St, Bakersfield, CA 93308. Viewing from 2pm-4pm and service to follow from 4pm-6pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the family through GoFundMe.
Romeo will be remembered for his selfless nature, hardworking spirit, and unwavering love for his family. May he rest in peace.
