Beloved Husband, Brother, Father, Grandfather and Friend. Robert was born on

March 18, 1943 in Bakersfield, California to Burgess and Charlcie Harp.

Robert served in the Vietnam War and upon returning home to Bakersfield he

enjoyed a 39 year career with AT&T as a Communications Technician. He also

served on a nationwide Disaster Recovery Team for approximately five years when

he was employed at AT&T.

After retirement from AT&T, Robert became an active lifetime member of VFW Post

7216, American Legion Post 26 and the Disabled American Veterans. It was also his

great honor to go on one of the Kern County Honor Flights. Robert also enjoyed

Wednesdays with his coffee group who were like brothers to him.

Robert passed away on October 14, 2024 with his wife, son and daughter by his

side. He is survived by Helen Harp, his wife of 57 years; brother John Harp and wife

Zana; Son Richard Harp and wife Amanda; Daughter, Jill Roland and husband

Justin; Grandchildren: Shane Roland; Zachary Roland And wife Jessica; Dylan

Roland; Ashley Maddon and husband Johnny; Kevin Harp; and Brandon Swift. He is

also survived by numerous other family members who were incredibly special to

him. He will be dearly missed by all of us.

Services are scheduled at the Bakersfield National Cemetery on October 22,

2024 at 10:00AM., 30338 E Bear Mountain BLVD Arvin, CA 93203.
