It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael J. Kirby, a Loving Son, Brother and Father. Michael J Kirby was born on July 16, 1987 in Bakersfield, California. He passed on June 15, 2026 at the age of 38 years old. He was the third son of Mel and Alma Kirby. Michael worked as an electrician a trade he learned from his father Mel. He loved family time at the beach with his sons and camping at Pinecrest Lake, a Kirby, summer vacation tradition. More than anything he loved his children, a proud father to Collin 16 and Caleb 13 years old. Michael accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior and was baptized at Valley Bible Fellowship. He loved singing worship songs at church, a comfort to his mother, Alma, as she remembers his voice singing loudly in her ear. Michael will be remembered for his kind heart, contagious smile, and the joy he brought to everyone around him. He had a deep love for music and was always singing or humming a tune, a gift he passed on to his son, Collin. Michael had a way of lighting up a room with his smile and making those around him laugh. He was sweet, caring, compassionate, and always willing to help others. A Special Thank You to Michael's ex wife, Breanna Lucey, who has been a great help and comfort during this difficult time. Michael is preceded in death by his grandparents, Bart and Anna Kirby. He is survived by his parents, Mel and Alma Kirby. Brothers, Robert, Joseph and Anthony Kirby. Sons, Collin and Caleb Kirby. Grandparents, Juventino and Theresa Gaitan. Numerous Uncles, Aunts and Cousins. Though Michael left us way too soon, his gentle spirit and loving heart will be remembered by us all.
