James Lavion Hallman, aged 83, passed away on September 9th, 2024. He was a beloved brother, father, uncle, grandfather and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. James was born on March 14th, 1941, in Wills Point, Texas, where he spent his formative years. He later moved to California where he went to find work to bring his family down from Texas. Throughout his career, he was known for his hard work, dedication, and passion for helping others.
Professionally, James excelled in welding and even created a business called "Hallman Welding". He later became part of the union and was part of major construction projects. In his free time, James enjoyed being a DJ (Diamond Jim) and owning his own barbeque business "Hallman Ribs on Wheels" and was always eager to share his knowledge and enthusiasm with others.
James Hallman was a loved brother, father, and grandfather. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, sharing stories, and cooking southern food. He was always there to offer guidance, support, and encouragement, no matter what challenges they faced.
He is survived by his children Patricia Hallman, Gloria Hallman, James Hallman jr., Frederick Hallman, his grandchildren, sisters and brother. He was preceded in death by Joyce Martin. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
