Obituary
Guadalupe "Lee" Flores (Meza)
Written by Michael R. Flores (Son)
September 3, 2025
Our mom, Guadalupe Lee Meza was born on September 24, 1936, in San Antonio, Texas, and she passed away August 27, 2025, in Bakersfield, California, at 88 years old. She was married to her husband, Ruben Flores, since September 3, 1953. Our dad, Ruben Flores, passed away on March 3, 2025, at 89 years old. Guadalupe (who preferred to go by "Lee" Flores) was married to Ruben Flores in the Mormon Meza Temple (Latter -day Saints) in Meza, Arizona. She is survived by her three children Michael Flores, Robert Lombard and Deborah Austin, her daughter-in-law Shelly Lombard, her grandson Sean Lombard, and her granddaughter Karissa Coffey.
Lee spent more than three decades as a civilian employee with The Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department. She retired, along with our dad (employed for more than three decades by The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power) and moved from the San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles County, California, to Bakersfield, Kern County, California in 2005.
Lee was the last surviving member of the San Antonio, Texas, Meza family. Lee was also the last surviving member (spouse) of the San Antonio, Texas, Flores family. Her passing is the end of an era. All of the original Meza and Flores families (including spouses) are now in God's hands.
Lee, compared to the greatest moms of all time, past, present and future, is tied for first place. It has been a tremendous honor to be her children. Everyone she came in contact with, Lee warmed with her love and good humor. She was one of a kind.
Lee will be greatly missed by her surviving children. Family and friends will also miss her dearly. We, the children, look forward to being in Heaven with our parents again some day.
We love you, Mom!!! You are with Dad and all your family and friends. Words cannot express how much we will miss you!!
