Glenn Elliott Hubanks

1980 – 2026

Glenn Elliott Hubanks was born September 15, 1980, in Bakersfield, CA; a beautiful soul, who loved motorcycles. I believe this was inherited from his grandfather, Glenn Maynard, they shared a love of many things. When Glenn was a young child, he and his grandfather would hang out in the garage tinkering and dissecting old CB radios. Glenn grew up to become a fine welder, he was taught by his great uncle, Norman Maynard, another fine welder. Glenn was the kindest person you ever met; he would see a struggling person on the side of the road, and make you turn around to give them money. Glenn was an avid Seventh Day Adventist, who loved the Lord with all his heart. He would always say, “I’m God’s right arm.”

In 2017 he moved to Honolulu, where he met Yuko Yoshida, his longtime companion. They spent their years enjoying the amenities of Honolulu, where Glenn worked as a project manager for a construction company. In May of 2026 he was diagnosed with stage 4 gastric cancer.

On August 7th Glenn lost his battle; he suffered greatly in his last days. I honestly don’t know how he did it. He is proceeded in death by many, too numerous to mention. He is survived by his son, Carter; companion, Yuko; his mother and stepfather, Betty and Gene Davenport; father and stepmother, Rod and Janet Hubanks; his sister and her husband, Terra and Tim Marsh. A special thank you to City of Hope and Providence Holy Cross for working towards a positive outcome and their compassion. I am extremely grateful to God for the 45 years I was blessed to spend with Glenn. Fly High my beautiful son; my heart will forever be broken. Until we meet again. Interment will be private, services entrusted to Monarch Memorial.
