Obituary

The Manzano family is very saddened to share the news of the passing of Frank (Frankie/Cito) Manzano, who died peacefully in his sleep on June 2.

Frank Manzano was born in Delano on January 29, 1955. His parents were Angel and Helen Manzano. He attended Fremont School, graduated in 1973 from Delano High School and attended Bakersfield College. He then joined the Army and served for 4 years.

Frankie worked as a phlebotomist for several years before deciding to chase his dream of becoming a stand-up comedian. Frankie performed on Cruise ships, in comedy clubs like the Comedy Store, Improve in San Diego, Los Angeles and even headlined in Las Vegas. He appeared on several television specials including HBO's Latino Kings of Comedy with George Lopez and Carlos Mencia and Loco Slam created by Paul Rodriguez and hosted by Carlos Mencia.

Frankie is survived by his brother Arthur (Lupe), sisters Margaret Uribes and Cecilia Ozaeta (Xavier), nieces Marina (Joe Garcia) and Celina (Jason Becerra), nephew Michael Uribes (Eunice), nephew Xavier Ozaeta III, niece Cierrah Ozaeta, grand-nephew Christian Agbalog, grand-niece Montana Becerra and his feline companion Buttons.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, June 20, from 10 am to 1 pm at Monarch Memorial located at 2801 F St, Bakersfield, CA 93301. A luncheon will follow at the same location.
