Francis Darlene Morris Littrell, 72, of Bakersfield California died at 4:30 a.m. Thursday June 20th 2024, at what used to be the San Joaquin Valley hospital.

She was born on August 5th 1951, in Bakersfield California. Daughter of Philip Eugene Rucks and Mary Beatrice Southerd (Short).

She is survived by her husband John Littrell who she married in 1996 and they spent 28 beautiful years together; two sisters Diane Hamilton, Evalee Simmons; two brothers Eugene Rucks, Samuel Southern; one daughter and one son, Denise Byford- Hughes and Eric Hughes; eight grandchildren, Robert, Meagan, Jenna, Madeline, Cheyenne, Brianna, Gracie May, Brandon; and soon to be seven great-grandchildren, Mason, Elias, Addison, Emma, Atlas, McCoy, and Naomi is due in September. But that does not begin to describe how huge her heart was that so many other people call her mother and grandmother. Michelle, Denise, Stacy, Kimberly, Brian, Chris, Aaron.

Darlene was a member of New covenant Church. She was a devoted child of our heavenly father. His light and love showered upon her family and everyone in her life through her. She was our guiding light and many would say that she helped them become the person they are today. She cared and loved so deeply and was the strongest woman any of us had ever met. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and servant of the Lord and gave of herself freely to those in need. she also fed all of us well and if we didn't know how to get something clean before we certainly knew after Darlene had been there. She loved praise and worship and chit-chatting on the phone spending time with her husband and her family is what gave her the greatest joy. She was the brightest light and we are the poorer for God taking back one of his most beautiful angels. We all will miss her for the rest of our lives. However, she would want us to keep living. Just be with each other. Make the most of it!!  Until we can't.
