Don Larry Cook, 70, of Bakersfield, passed away on May 11, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family and friends.

Don was a man who never met a stranger. Known for his outgoing spirit, sense of humor, and gift for conversation, he brought warmth and laughter wherever he went. He had a deep love for music and especially enjoyed playing guitar and singing songs that became treasured memories for those around him. His presence could light up a room, and his love for family ran deep.

He is lovingly survived by his daughters, Audra, Talia and Jerrica; his son, Beau; He also leaves behind his former wife and lifelong friend, Joy; his beloved sister Kathleen; his dear friend and companion, Lana; his granddaughters, Anyssa and Jazzalyn; and many grandchildren whom he loved as his own.

Don shared a special bond with his sons-in-law, Javier and his soon-to-be son-in-law Eddie, both of whom he cared for deeply. He is also survived by his many cousins, nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends who will miss him dearly.

Don will be remembered for his music, his storytelling, his big personality, and the love he gave so freely to others. Though deeply missed, his family finds comfort knowing his spirit and songs will live on in their hearts forever.
