Beverley Irene
Nutt
February 17, 1929 – January 6, 2025
We gather today to celebrate the life and cherish the memories of a remarkable soul, Beverley Irene Nutt, a beacon of light and love who walked among us. Born in the humble town of Taft, California, on the 17th of February, 1929, Beverley was a testament to the beauty of a life well-lived. She returned to her Creator on the 6th of January, 2025, in the comforting embrace of Bakersfield, California, surrounded by the land and people she so dearly loved.
Beverley was a woman of faith and fervor, whose spirit was as vibrant as the gardens she tenderly cultivated. Her life was a tapestry woven with threads of joy, resilience, and unwavering faith. She nurtured her soul with the words of the Good Book, often quoting, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me," from Philippians 4:13. These words were the bedrock upon which she built her life, the anthem that saw her through both trials and triumphs.
Her journey on this earthly plane was shared with her beloved family – her daughter Angelea Martin, her son Kenneth Nutt, her cherished daughter-in-law Marylou Nutt, and her adored grandchildren, Brian and Matthew Nutt. Each of them a testament to Beverley's love, her guiding hand a constant presence throughout their lives. She was the North Star in their heavens, guiding them with her wisdom and illuminating their paths with her grace.
Beverley's commitment to education was unwavering, as she proudly graduated from Bakersfield Adult School. Her intellect and dedication to growth were evident in all her endeavors. She carried these traits into her professional life, where she served with distinction for many years at Chicago Title & Trust in Bakersfield, California, as a billing escrow accountant. Her colleagues knew her as a woman of integrity, whose work ethic was matched only by her kindness.
Beyond the walls of her home and office, Beverley's heart sang in the great outdoors. She was an avid gardener, her hands shaping the earth as she coaxed life from the soil with a tender touch and a joyful heart. Her spirit soared in the mountains, found peace at Pismo Beach, and rejoiced in the simple pleasure of Dodger baseball, whether watching on TV or listening to the dulcet tones of Vin Scully on the radio. Each of these pastimes was a chapter in the book of her life, stories of adventure, serenity, and passion.
In describing Beverley, one could say she was faith-filled, spirited, and adventurous. But even these words, as evocative as they are, barely scratch the surface of the woman who touched so many lives. She was a force of nature, a whirlwind of energy and love that uplifted all who were blessed to know her.
As we bid farewell to Beverley Irene Nutt, we do so with hearts full of gratitude. She has left us with a legacy of love, a blueprint for living a life with purpose and joy. Let us not mourn her departure, but instead celebrate the time we were granted in her radiant presence. For as it is said in 2 Timothy 4:7, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." And indeed, our dear Beverley has done just that.
May we honor her memory by emulating her zest for life, her unwavering faith, and her boundless love. May her soul rest in the eternal peace of the Lord's garden, and may her spirit continue to inspire us all. Amen.
